1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of Ink a Day at inkaday.com (“Ink a Day”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Using Ink a Day

Ink a Day is a free tool for practising Chinese and Japanese handwriting. You may use it for your own learning and teaching. Please don't:

• try to break, overload or get around the security of the site or its API;
• scrape or copy the site in bulk, or resell it or its content;
• use it in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.

We may change, pause or stop any part of the site at any time.

3. Privacy

You can use Ink a Day without an account. Signing in with Google is optional, and keeps your progress on every device. What Ink a Day keeps, and why, is set out in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

4. Content and licences

The site's design, text and code belong to Ink a Day. Stroke data comes from open projects under their own licences: Make Me a Hanzi (Arphic Public License) for Chinese, and hanzi-writer-data-jp, based on animCJK, for Japanese. Characters are drawn with Hanzi Writer (MIT License).

5. Accuracy

We work to get readings, meanings and stroke orders right, but mistakes are possible, and stroke order can differ between Chinese and Japanese and between regions. Ink a Day is a practice aid, not an authority, so please check anything important, such as a tattoo or a sign, with a qualified teacher or native speaker. Found a mistake? 6. No warranty

Ink a Day is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that your progress will never be lost.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ink a Day will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the site.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.
